The brief was to create some shot animations that would appeal to an audience of 7-11 year olds who wanted to find out more about the different types of epileptic seizures as well as how they should feel and what they can do to help.
We first needed to find the right illustrative style for the animated characters then went about crafting each storyboard with playful scenes, combining full colour characters and key elements with simpler line drawing backgrounds. Depicting the effects of a seiziure without animating a seziure taking place was one of the main challenges. Using young children to voice each story helped to make each tale feel authentic and natural.
